Illy coffee
It's hard to find good coffee in Singapore. Recently I bought some illy coffee, attracted by the "individually wrapped sachets" promised on the shiny tin. I imagined using them in my filter coffee maker.
Imaging my surprise when these sachets turned out to be for an espresso machine. I can still use them, I just have to tear the packet and pour the coffee innards inside the machine. Kinda defeats the purpose, but oh well.
I like the idea of pre-packaged neat little capsules of ground coffee. I'd seriously considered getting a Nespresso expressly for this purpose. I'm glad to know that there is a cheaper and more ecological sound alternative to Nespresso.

I am not a big fan of the prepackage coffee. Takes away options.

Tangs on Orchard used to sell in their downstairs area where all the Bodums are displayed some fresh roasted coffee beans in packets - don't know if they still do as I don't live in Singapore anymore. Those beans are pretty good as they are fresh roasted! :-)

I had never used the Nespresso until some recent trips outside of the U.S. Now that I've used it, I can't go without it, and I've brought one back to my home in the States. I'm a huge fan!

I think pre packaged coffee is highly variable. Liek most htings it depends on the quality of the raw ingredients. Poor grade fresh beans will give you a bad cup of coffee. Ultimately though fresh is best.
