Name change

I've changed the name of the blog from "A Banana in Australia" to "Banana Tikka Masala". This is to reflect the fact that I'm now based in London instead of Australia. It's a lot more curry here - less Thai. I'm missing the fresh food and veges, although it's actually not as expensive as people say. You can get fresh fruit and veges at good prices if you look, e.g. at markets and at certain supermarkets.

I used to have a morbid fascination with Iceland. Who knew you could have an entire supermarket based on frozen products. Frozen beef mince pellets were nauseatingly spellbinding too.

I used to shop a lot at Walthamstow markets. And I never tired of hearing "Two pounds of bananas. Two pounds for a pound" in a strong Cockney accent.

Yeh my question too. Did the boyfriend go with you? Have a great time in London and I look forward to your food discoveries.

The bf arrives on Tuesday, yay!

I'm going to visit the Borough Markets one Saturday - I hear you can buy white truffles there, as well as beheaded and de-hooved (but not defurred)reindeer.
